Description

Jose Cruz Sr. was a star outfielder for the Houston Astros from 1975 to 1987, and then served as the first base coach from 1997 to 2009. He is currently the community outreach executive for the organization. During his career, he was a 2-time All-Star, 2-time Silver Slugger, and still holds the team record for career triples with 80. The Astros retired his jersey number 25 in 1992, and in 2019, he was inducted into the Houston Astros Hall of Fame.
